ELA

Next week we will continue to compare and contrast information gained from nonfiction text. We will read about a Doorstep School in India and compare this school to our school. Later on during the week we will work in small groups to gather more information about one of the schools we have previously studied. 

Math

Next week in math we will continue learning strategies for adding and subtracting double digit numbers within the context of solving story problems. Some of  the strategies we will use will include base ten drawings, counting on, and using an open number line.

Science

Next week we will continue studying weather and learn about instruments used to measure weather.

Boosterthon

Thank you to everyone that has donated to the PTA Boosterthon Fun Run. The money raised during this event will be used to help replace and update technology at our school. Our class has raised $46 per lap up to this point!

Yearbook Picture Contest

All students at Banks Road are invited to participate in the yearbook picture contest. One winner will be picked from each grade level and their artwork will be featured in this year's yearbook! To have a drawing considered students must meet all the contest requirements and their work must be submitted on or before the due date.

The due date for all submissions is Friday, September 20, 2019.

Requirements for Drawings:

• All artwork must be completed by the student
• All artwork must contain school appropriate subject matter
• Drawings must be on white 8.5x11" copy paper
• Drawings must be completed using markers
• Student name, grade, and teacher must be printed on the back of the drawing
