We are beginning a new unit this quarter on plants. This week we will read nonfiction text about plants and focus on how we can use text features to help us quickly find information within the text. We will use the information learned from the text features to write about what a plant needs to grow and survive.
Math
This week we will work on mentally adding and subtracting 10 or 100 to and from three digit numbers. We will also work on adding 3 two-digit numbers using base ten blocks, proof drawings and open number lines.
We are beginning a unit on the economy. This week we will learn about producers, consumers, needs and wants.
Report Cards
Second quarter report cards will be sent home at the end of the week in your child's Friday Folder along with a summary of your child's current reading level as measure by Istation.
