It's great to be back! This week during reading we jumped right into our new EL curriculum and read The Dot. Our main learning targets for this week were establishing discussion and listening protocols when talking with a partner. We also practiced answering questions using details from the text. During our math time we worked using number lines to add, and we learned about odd and even numbers.

ELA

Next week we will practice answering questions using details from the text to support our answers. We will spend the week reading The Invisible Boy. Throughout the read aloud we will work on supporting our written responses with text evidence.

Math

Next week in math we will review strategies we can use to determine odd and even numbers. These strategies include making two equal groups, partnering up manipulatives, and finding a doubles equation. As we approach the end of the week we will work on using the counting on strategy to find the total or missing addend in an equation. Please use the link below to see an example of the strategy we will use in class.
